Coaching For Dogs and Their Humans
Is Your Dog Ignoring You?
Teaching a dog can be a daunting task; particularly if you’re a first-time owner. It can be frustrating when your dog doesn’t seem to be learning, or even worse, when they seem to have forgotten everything you’ve already taught them.
- Do you have a new puppy?
- Has your adult dog forgotten their manners?
- Does your rescue dog need help adjusting to their new life?
I can help you.
We often expect our dogs to just fit in to our world, without a care for what their needs might be. Then we call them “naughty” when they just behave like a dog but it doesn’t suit our way of life. I can help you find a way to meet their needs, and help them fit in to this alien “human” world that we live in.
Lets create some harmony in both your lives.
Based in Brixham, at the southern end of Torbay, Devon.
I can offer ethical, positive reinforcement based training for dogs and their humans .
Learn how to:
- Read your dog’s body language so you can “listen” them.
- Tell them what you need from them in a consistent manner so they listen to you.
- Build a lasting bond and get the best from your relationship with your dog.
Using only positive, force free techniques to support ethical interactions with your dog.
We would definitely recommend Tom for any training needs you have. Best thing we did with Lola.
“We were first time dog owners and completely overwhelmed with our beautiful puppy Lola. We had no idea what we were doing and wondered if we’d made the right decision. It was such hard work! Luckily for us a friend told us about Tom who we contacted immediately. Tom was fantastic and supportive, Lola loved him straight away and by the end of our first session we felt in control and relaxed. Tom gave us the tools and confidence to be able to train Lola in a positive way which meant we were all happy and better for it.”

The Coaching The Dog Blog
This is Rapunzel (Punky for short). She joined me in December of last year (2023) from Break The Chains: For Dogs Bulgaria. I think she rescued me as much I rescued her to be honest.
This blog will offer advice learnt from our own experiences, along with information that I pick up from the wider world of dog behaviour and coaching, and anything else that I think you might find helpful or interesting.
Hopefully, what I share will make your rescue journey a little easier; or even encourage you to take a look at taking in a rescue dog yourself.
- Hold Tight! This Could Be A Bumpy Ride.Dog training is very rarely straightforward, so hold on tight this could be a bumpy ride. While it would be lovely to think that everything progresses nicely and your dog becomes a bit more “perfect” everyday, this is seldom the case.
